All Lunchtime Sports Competition Indoor Soccer
Games will be played in the Recreation Hall. The games start at 1.05pm and 1.35pm
respectively. The games will consist of 2 x 12 minute halves.
1.
Each team will consist of 6 players on the field at
any given time.
2.
Teams will have to produce a team sheet with a maximum
of ten (10) players. Only those players on the team sheet are eligible to play.
Teams will have 2 weeks to finalise their team sheet and no adjustments can be made
for any reason after the due date. Players can play for one team only.
3.
All walls are in bounds, except when the ball touches the
wall inside the goal area. The goal keeper is the only person who can touch the
ball inside the goal area. No other person is allowed inside the goal area. The goal
keeper is not allowed to use his hands outside the goal area, but he is allowed to kick
the ball outside this goal area.
SCORING GOALS
4.
For a goal to be scored, it must be kicked from inside the
front half of the court. A goal cannot be scored from a kick in the back half. No goal
can be scored inside the goal area.
5.
No-one (with the exception of the goal keeper) is permitted to
touch the ball inside the goal area. This means that any player (defender or attacker)
is allowed to run through the goal area as long as he does not touch the ball.
If a defender touches the ball inside the goal area, a penalty is awarded to the attacking
team. If an attacker touches the ball inside the goal area, a free kick is awarded to the
goal keeper.
INTERCHANGE OF PLAYERS
6.
An interchange can only occur when there is a break in play,
eg. a goal is scored or a free kick awarded.
7.
Slide tackles are not allowed. A yellow card may be issued
for such an offence.
INDIRECT FREE KICKS
8.
Indirect free kicks will be taken by the opposing team from
the place where any of the following offences occur:
* Ball kicked above maximum height allowed (2-2.5 metres).
* Kicks or attempted kicks to an opponent.
* Tripping an opponent.
* Holding or pushing an opponent.
* Charges an opponent in a violent or dangerous manner.
* Blocking or obstructing a player from the ball.
* Accidentally (or intentionally) handling the ball.
PENALTY
9.
A penalty may be awarded when:
* A defender enters the goal area and touches the ball.
* Two players attempt to tackle the ball handler at one time.
* Deliberately handling the ball to block an attempt on goal (excluding the goal
keeper who is allowed to use his hands inside the goal area).
10.
The referee has the power to award a yellow card if:
* A player, in the referee's opinion, is guilty of violent conduct or serious foul play.
* A player uses foul language.
* A player persists in misconduct after having recieved a caution.
* A player either strikes an opponent or attempts to do so.
FORFEIT
11.
In the event of a forfeit, the winning team will be awarded
three (3) points and a score of 5-0.
FINALS
12.
To be eligible to play in a final game, a player must have
played at least half the total number of scheduled matches.
13.
Finals games will consist of 2 fifteen minute halves. In the
event of a draw, a further 2 minutes will be played at each end. If the games is still
drawn, a sudden death playoff (ie. the first team to score wins) will decide the match.
The soccer competition will be cancelled if any misconduct, abuse or violent
incidents are reported to the Sports Activities Officer. Any offensive behaviour will
not be tolerated, and any team/individual who continuallly misbehaves will be told to
withdraw from the competition.
